He pulled her into his lap, cuddling her close. “You beautiful, brilliant, girl…” he praised her, so excited to see his little girl performing magic. “I am so very proud of you, Andromeda. I think you deserve a treat, don’t you?”
Her dark brown eyes lit up at the mention of the word ‘treat’. “A new book?” She was just learning to read, and she spent most of her time reading with mummy. She was getting good at it, actually. She was reading material that was more suitable for eight year olds, not four.
“Did you finish the last one?” he asked, a slightly teasing tone. He knew she had completed it in a couple of nights as he’d overheard her eagerly telling her mother the whole story while she fed Narcissa. “All of it?”

I hope you don’t mind me stepping in the conversation, I find it very interesting. Just for clarification, I think the girls are hurt that it seems like their mother loves their father over their happiness. It’s all very selfish from both perspectives. It just doesn’t seem fair to the unborn kid. At least two of it’s sisters hate him/her for no reason that’s of his fault and Druella seems pretty content on being the victim. I think what they’re pissed about is Druella acts like she has no choice in what she has done when she’s always had a choice. She just wants the right to complain. I don’t know how else to explain it. :D
^ I agree. And to Dallas, I understand. Sometimes I take things personally as well. But I know from experience that things like that are ever-lasting. It changes the way you think, feel, act. It’s like a crossroads, you can choose one way or another, but with something like this, you can’t go back. It’s even harder since this is how they remember him, not the way it was before.
I do understand that, and both Cygnus and I know it’s never going to be like it was and there’s nothing we can do to make up for it.
As Druella’s choice… I think - and I’m totally talking out of my arse seeing I don’t know if Amy’s on or not and I don’t know her thoughts - for Druella she’d be stuck. She does love her children and she’s been through a similar hell to them over and over in her life, but originally it was Cygnus who saved her from that, and if not for him she wouldn’t have had her girls in the first place.
Not to mention for the most part when this all started she was either locked away or drugged up. There was no way in hell she had any understanding of what was going on beyond what was happening in her head. And I think that too is hard because there’s all these things that happen that children are never privvy to… so now there’s all this talk against the baby and Druella’s choice to have it but for her there is no other choice. She couldn’t even contemplate killing her own child, and the prospect of losing another scares them both given it’s what caused all this hell in the first place. But either way, no matter what happens, they’re going to be ridiculed for their actions. Whether they have the baby or not. If it’s a boy then it will likely be a case of ‘oh well they finally got what they wanted’. If nothing goes wrong they’ll hate it for having the perfect childhood too.
But Cygnus is going to do everything he can to protect this child and make up for his past mistakes, as is Druella. And, I don’t know, it’s just no fair the way they treat Druella.
I don’t know my whole brain just went blah and I’ve given up. Never mind me.

And most (because things that happened on Cygnus own actions are obviously not her’s) of it is by her choosing. It’s really not fair to a kid.
The thing is, Bellatrix and Narcissa act like their entire childhood was all beltings and rape. Which is what bugs me personally about the whole scenario. I’m not an idiot, I get that it’s not something to be forgiven but at least when he and Narcissa discussed it they came to some sort of understanding and now it’s just all shot to hell again. I don’t know, it’s just like, yeah he fucked up really bad but he was a good father before it all went to hell.
And I’m pretty sure there’s no way I can argue my point without people being all “are you fucking kidding me?” but yeah…

Cygnus, pretty much, yeah. They still attempt with Druella. But clearly she’s content to feel exiled anyway.

She moaned softly sliding her hands down his chest before moving over her own body and unhooking her corset letting fall to the floor before unzipping her skirt and stepping out over her heels leaving her in her stockings and knickers. She broke the kiss, trailing her lips lightly down his neck, scratching at his chest.
He let his head fall back, groaning as her lips and nails caress his chest. His own hands dipped down her body to slide beneath her knickers. Caressing her arse firmly he pushed the lacey fabric down, letting them drop to the floor.

“You had better not even contemplate such a horrid thought again. I would have to curse you into oblivion.” She murmured into his neck before pulling back some and looking up at him, slowly leaning forward and closing the gap kissing him.
He kissed her back, brushing her hair lightly behind her ear. “Je suis désolé, ma chérie,” he said softly. “Je n’ai jamais voulu te blesser.”
She shook her head closing her eyes. “Don’t speak. Not right now. I don’t even want to think right now. I just want to feel.” She murmured pulling him into another kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck and threading her fingers into his thick hair.
He dropped his hands to unbuckle his belt and push off his trousers, kicking them off with his shoes as he backed her up against the sink.
